SA for the Day

Took a hop to SA Saturday to do some business at my bank. I realized I could just hop down there, get a good SA breakfast of Barbacoa and Menudo (below), hang out with the family and get back before Max would even notice. (Okay, he noticed, but had no idea I was out of town, just thought I was out late - if that's what he thought at all!) I love that dogs have no sense that I was "going to work" for the 6th day in a row. I was in the bathroom at the bank and I spotted a ton of crickets --like three or so -- and one was attempting to escape down a drain. He had his back legs sticking out of the drain so I had to take a picture. It's blurry because someone came in when I was attempting the second picture. Ya see the drain was between my stall and the one next to mine. I don't need to be known as the perv who was taking pictures in the bathroom of the local bank. Sheesh, I have a dog back in Dallas who needs his mama!
I'm still trying to find the family slides at my parent's house, but no one really wants to go thru all the effort. I did go through the upstairs closet, but that only produced the fact that I think there is one blanket equivalent to every member of the family's ages combined. There was a huge fluffy mess in the hallway. I found my little purple and white blanket crocheted for me when I was about 10 and was a mainstay on my bed until I moved out. Until Max stops his chewing fetish, I can't, in good conscience bring it home. It's too important to bring home.
I only brought a totebag filled with "Keep Berta's ADD at Bay" stuff with me on the plane. I went to Border's and loaded up on a few magazines, an easy Soduko book (that was not so easy) and Alison Bechdel's book "Fun House". I did 4 crossword puzzles before I got tired of hitting my elbow on the window. ( Lefty's shouldn't sit in the window seat on the left side of the plane) When I segued to Fun House, I was pretty much glued to that. I finished it while I was drying my hair yesterday. Totally recommend it. I've loved her comic strip for a while, I think I'll finally go out and get her books. I don't know why I hadn't before. Maybe borrowing lesbian reading from Gianna's bookshelf was safer and easier. Heck, I've been catching "Dykes To Watch Out For" since Ellen was just a stand up comic!
La Rancherita - Yumm!
