Pit Bull vs Possum

Well, I love this place, so far.
I'm not breathing heavy for as long as I was a few weeks ago after climbing up to the third floor.
Getting the boxes out of the way is helping me see the space that everyone but me seems to be impressed with.
I do like hiding all my laundry in the gigantor laundry room, as well as other crap that I might need to hide in the future when guests come.
Max is making a lot of friends. He LOVES the dog run that they have. He and Gracie, his Pit Bull buddy, have a fun time.
Okay, so speaking of Pit Bulls...
There are like 5 of them at this complex. I was expecting big dogs simply because my last place didn't allow big dogs and that's how we ended up here. Big dogs are kinda new to Max, but he's getting used to them.
So, yesterday, we were at the dog run, it was Gracie, Max and Dauber (a Min-Pin). Gracie, usually a good runner, just wouldn't leave the thicket of grass, she was staring at something. So, me, I went in to have a look. Max dropped his toy in the thicket before and was a wimp about getting it out. Then I saw something moving. At first I thought it might be a little bunny rabbit, as I've seen them around, or maybe a cat that's just stuck in the high grass. Nope, it was a medium sized (let's be honest, his teeth were HUGE!) possum p'ssed off that he got stuck in the grass when these silly dogs showed up.
Nate, Dauber's daddy, gets in there to see if he can shoo him out. Max, in the mean time is running between me and Gracie, I think it was his way of tattling. He's a Herder, not a fighter. (lol)
Next thing you know, Nate goes "Whooa! Go for it Gracie!" As he shooed the possum out of the brush, Gracie grabbed it by the neck and killed it. We think.
We all just said..."ooooooh" and then "Gross"... and then "Holy Sh*t"... and then "She KILLED it??With her jaws?!" Nate did a snapping motion with his hands, "Just like that-- Whoom!"
Yucky! Well, Gracie's mom calls her over and poor little dog would've had her tail between her legs if her little stubby tail were long enough. She knew she did bad. She didn't have blood on her jaws or anything, and the possum might've been playing dead, but it was mind-blowing nonetheless! Miss Gracie exhibited some serious natural instinct!
---And Gracie's the friendly Pit!
